Current Openings:
Lift Operator
You will be the pilot and conductor of one of Huff Hills Ski Area's lifts. Operators assist guests in loading and unloading from the lift, and need to have great customer service skills. Lift Operators maintain lift ramp areas by shoveling, and placing barriers and signs. Operators will fill out all appropriate paperwork in compliance with ANSI code requirements. You will have the opportunity to work with a new, state-of-the-art control system on the Blue Lift. Applicants should enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions. If you want to work hard and play hard on the mountain, this is the job for you!!
Job Requirements
Must be 18 years old or older. Position requires some lifting, and shoveling, and working outside in winter conditions. Applicants should be available on weekends and holidays from Dec. 1st until the end of March. Normal work day is 9:30 AM-5:00 PM.
Rental Shop Technician
If you want to be responsible for helping guests get the perfect fit for their skis, snowboards and boots, as well as maintaining a fleet of skis, snowboards and boots, then a Rental Shop Technician job is perfect fit for you. Come work in Huff Hills Ski Area's Rental Center building. You will be responsible for courteous, efficient delivery of rental equipment. Rental Techs also perform routine maintenance on rental equipment, and assist other departments as necessary.
Job Requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age, and may be required to obtain a binding manufactures certification. (Huff Hills Ski Area pays for and assists with the certification)
Must be able to lift approximately 35 pounds, and remain standing for long periods.
Must be available on weekends and holidays during the winter season from Dec. 1 through the end of March. Normal work day is 9:00 AM-5:30 PM.
Ski/Snowboard Instructor
Do you love to Ski or Snowboard, and want a job that keeps you on the snow all day? Do you enjoy teaching people? Then apply for a position as a Ski or Snowboard Instructor! This job involves leading group and private lessons, and assisting guests to improve their ski/snowboard skills.
Patience is a must, as well as a desire to interact with and make a guest's day the best it can be. Instructors work outside in many different weather conditions. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, and posses strong skiing or snowboarding skills. A PSIA/AASI certification, or experience as an instructor is a plus, but not required. Free employee season ski pass, and discounted skiing at Sister Areas is also part of the package.
Ticketing/Point of Sale
You are the first person that guests will meet. You smile and greet them, and then assist with tickets, food or rental transactions. If the guest has a problem, you work to solve it or refer them to the correct person if necessary. You may float between the ticket desk, food service or the rental shop to operate POS terminals. When you have time, you check trashes and clear tables. At the end of the day you assist with mopping, sweeping and vacuuming the chalet as well as the yurt, and cleaning the bathrooms.
Ticket Scanner
You will greet each guest that is riding the lift, and use the scanner to ensure they have a pass, and are ready to ride. You will assist guests in the lift maze to know where to go, and answer any questions about riding the lift. You also need to be the hype squad and make sure people are having the best day ever. Trivia questions, dance parties, you name it, just bring the fun. You will assist lift staff with some raking and shoveling to maintain the lift maze and ramp in tip-top shape.
Ski Patrol (Volunteer Positions)

Do you want a fast paced, outdoor job that provides great training? Huff Hills Ski Patrol is recruiting volunteer patrollers. Ski Patrollers are responsible for many aspects of ski area safety, including placing signage and ropelines, assisting injured guests, performing lift evacuation, and guest education. Patrollers work on average two days per month, and receive a free employee pass. Returning patrollers can qualify for a free family pass, as well as free or discounted skiing at other ski areas. Training is provided for medical and practical skills, as well as skiing and snowboarding development.
Patrollers work outdoors in winter weather conditions, and must be able to assist in emergencies during adverse weather conditions. Lifting and other strenuous work is required.
